Description
Discover the beauty of Yo La Tengo’s delicate, lonesome score for Kelly Reichardt’s cherished film “Old Joy,” now available on vinyl for the very first time! Featuring six instrumental tracks created alongside the talented guitarist Smokey Hormel, this music carries the iconic YLT sound while beautifully complementing another remarkable piece of art. Just like much of Reichardt’s filmmaking, the score is both understated and captivating, revealing its warmth and authenticity through its simplicity. The record presents two lovely variations of the beloved “Leaving Home” theme, making their vinyl debut after being cherished among YLT fans for years. Originally part of the “They Shoot, We Score” CD, which gathered various soundtracks from the band, “Old Joy” shines here as a wonderful, cohesive experience that’s even more rewarding with each listen!
