Description
The word tween suggests awkwardness, but it also signifies a process of becoming, which has a unique beauty. Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack describe these songs as a step sideways in time, not fitting on album five but not without place. Tween is full of gorgeous Wye Oak songs, crafted by two experts, spanning styles from Cocteau Twins to 80s electronic. These songs arent castoffs but, in fact, may be more accessible than Shriek. They deserve recognition alongside renowned collections like R.E.M.s Dead Letter Office or The Whos Odds and Sods.
