Description
25 years and still going strong – Tortoise break their 7-year silence with The Catastrophist! Packed with remastered classics, this U.S. alt-rock masterpiece blends jazz, dub, prog and original C86 vibes. The City of Chicago commissioned the group to honor local musical heritage, which The Catastrophist builds upon. Georgia Hubley of Yo La Tengo and Dead Rider’s Todd Rittmann lend their talents. This surreal psychedelic dream features a cover of David Essex’s “Rock On,” plus Throbbing Gristle-inspired electronics, rolling and chugging bass, and hypnotic drums. After a quarter-century, Tortoise remain unique – their music both timeless and ever evolving!
