Description
This Mortal Coil’s ethereal masterpiece, Filigree & Shadow, unravels itself onto vinyl in a sumptuous 2LP reissue, beckoning us to enter its sonic cathedral once more. Within this diaphanous aural tapestry, Ivo Watts-Russell and his coterie of celestial vocalists weave an intricate and profound narrative of loss, desire, and redemption. Delight in the alchemical juxtaposition of delicate ambience and plaintive balladry, a chiaroscuro for the senses that illuminates the darker recesses of the soul. In its expansive vinyl incarnation, Filigree & Shadow swells with a newfound resonance, enveloping the listener in a paradoxically comforting cocoon of melancholia.
