Superchunk – Incidental Music 1991-1995 – Opaque Orange /Green Color Vinyl

Description

Superchunk’s second anthology of singles, B-sides, and EPs, originally launched in 1995, came hot on the heels of their seminal album, Foolish. This compilation amasses audience favorites like “Shallow End” from soundtracks and B-sides such as “On the Mouth,” complemented by their interpretations of songs by The Magnetic Fields, The Verlaines, The Chills, and even Motrhead.

Fred Thomas from AllMusic encapsulates the essence of this album perfectly: “Incidental Music serves as an integral part of Superchunk’s discography, capturing the band’s evolution from the raw brilliance of their early days towards the more sophisticated songwriting powerhouse that emerged in the mid-90s.” This compilation album is an important chapter in the Superchunk story, a vital glimpse into their musical journey during this transformative period.
