Sonic Youth – Experimental Jet Set, Trash & No Star – Vinyl Record

Description

“Experimental Jet Set, Trash & No Star” marked a shift in Sonic Youth’s sound. Moving away from their iconic ear-splitting feedback, the band embraced a clearer pop/rock structure. Despite this shift, their core essence of unpredictable artistry remained, making them still misunderstood by the mainstream. While some longed for their classic rock grit, the album, with Butch Vig’s pristine production, offers raw gems like “Starfield Road” and “Winner’s Blues.” The album stands out in Sonic Youth’s discography as a dive into straight-ahead pop/rock, exposing their unique lyrics and guitar styles, devoid of their trademark noise. Experience their stripped essence in this 2016 LP re-release.
