Description
Parquet Courts, performing under the Parkay Quarts alias, present Tally All the Things That You Broke. Originally released in 2013, this edition is being reissued by Rough Trade Records on November 28, 2025. This pressing captures the bands willingness to stretch out between full-lengths, yielding a set that feels both immediate and exploratory.
Opener Youve Got Me Wonderin Now delivers melodic propulsion with a playful Flutophone threading the melody, while Descend (The Way) carries forward the bands manic energy. The More It Works evolves into a live-ready crescendo, and Fall On Yr Face offers a lopsided, tuneful desert mood. Hes Seeing Paths extends into an eight-minute stream-of-consciousness explorationan odometer of a marijuana delivery rider navigating a city made vivid by junkyard drum loops and doorbell samples. This record sits at the crossroads of Parquet Courts raw indie-punk edge and a broader, Beck/Ween-tinged experimental voicea quintessential post-millenial NYC moment.
