Description

One of the most beloved classic dramas of Hollywoods Golden Age, Now, Voyager tells the compelling story of Charlotte Vale (Bette Davis), a woman who transforms from a repressed, lonely spinster into a confident and independent woman. Under the strict control of her domineering mother (Gladys Cooper), Charlotte’s life is one of miseryuntil she is sent to a sanitarium where she blossoms into her true self. On a cruise meant to aid her recovery, she encounters the charming but unhappily married Jerry Durrance (Paul Henreid), leading to a passionate but ultimately bittersweet romance. A beautifully crafted film filled with stellar performances and an iconic musical score, this Criterion Collection edition restores the film to its original brilliance.
