Description

Nina Simone was one of the greatest Blues singers of the 20th century. Like famous singers Billie Holiday and Bessie Smith, she had the amazing power to touch people’s hearts. One of her songs, “Be My Husband,” inspired musicians like Jeff Buckley and Antony Hegarty.

This album also includes classic songs like “Nobody Knows When You’re Down And Out” by Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday’s “Strange Fruit,” and a Nina Simone favorite, “Sinnerman.” “Sinnerman” is an exciting 10-minute song about a man trying to outrun the Devil. It’s such an intense song that it was used in the movie “The Thomas Crown Affair” and sampled by stars like Kanye West, Talib Kweli, and Felix da Housecat.

Nina Simone always amazed her fans with her incredible voice. Now, for the first time since 1965, her album Pastel Blues is being re-released on vinyl. This special release is sure to do justice to Nina Simone’s amazing talent and the timeless songs she shared with the world.
