NAS – It Was Written – Gold & Black Color Vinyl Record

Description

Special 2023 UK National Album Day Version

For his second album, It Was Written, Nas enlisted the help of prominent hip-hop producers like Dr. Dre, DJ Premier, Stretch, and Trackmasters to craft a musical backdrop for his bold and groundbreaking rhymes. While his style may not be as shocking as it was on his debut, Illmatic, Nas has honed his skills to create intricately woven verses that not only flow effortlessly but also tell compelling stories. With a focus on depicting life in the ghetto with a political edge, Nas captures the listener’s attention and keeps it with his intricate and polished production. Despite the more elaborate sound, Nas’ lyrics remain raw and authentic, and when paired with the infectious grooves and spare beats, It Was Written becomes a must-listen album that stands out among its contemporaries.
