Description
JEFF BECK Blow By Blow (2010 UK/EU limited edition 9-track LP pressed on 180-gram audiophile black vinyl). Originally released in 1975, this album is often celebrated as one of his finest works, featuring the incredible Stevie Wonder on keyboards and produced by the legendary George Martin.
Blow by Blow is not just any album; it’s Jeff Beck’s 1975 solo masterpiece, cherished by fans and fellow musicians alike. Back in 1965, former Yardbirds sideman Chris Dreja predicted that Beck’s current sound ‘…was 1975.’ Mark Kirschenmann’s enthusiastic review on Allmusic emphasizes this sentiment, stating that ‘Blow by Blow ranks as one of the premiere recordings in the canon of instrumental rock music.’
What makes this album particularly remarkable is that, as an all-instrumental release, it achieved an unexpected commercial success, blending elements of jazz fusion in a way that was rarely found on best-selling lists back then. It even earned a Gold certification in 1976!
