Herbie Hancock – Head Hunters – Vinyl Record 180g Import

Description

Herbie Hancock is one of the most celebrated jazz pianists of the 20th century, having played with legends like Donald Byrd and Miles Davis. Hancock was also an early adopter of electronic instruments, mastering the electric piano while always staying true to his acoustic roots. He has touched upon almost every development in R&B, funk, and jazz, maintaining a unique and original sound throughout his career.

“Head Hunters” was Hancock’s first album with his new backing band, the Head Hunters, and it marked a significant departure from his previous work. Hancock sought to create a lighter sound that would connect more with the earth and the audience. The album’s infectious synthesizers and clavinet melodies, paired with a super-tight groove, make it one of his funkiest and most popular records. Classic tracks like “Chameleon” and “Watermelon Man” showcase Hancock’s genius and the band’s ability to craft a coherent jazz fusion album. With contributions from drummer Harvey Mason, bassist Paul Jackson, and reedist Bernie Maupin, “Head Hunters” is a must-listen for any fan of jazz, funk, or soul music.
