Cloud Nothings – The Shadow I Remember [Limited Spectral Light Whirl Vinyl] *

Description

Celebrating 11 years of touring, Cloud Nothings’ new record The Shadow I Remember fuses classic aggression with stunning pop perfection. Returning to producer Steve Albini’s Electrical Audio Studios in Chicago, Dylan Baldi reignited his solo songwriting prowess, bringing nearly 30 demos to life as the album’s 11 songs. Breaking free of routine, the band and guests add melodic layers — Macie Stewart contributes vocals to the catchy “Nothing Without You”, and synth parts from Brett Naucke spice up the mix. Clocking in around 3 minutes each, these tracks are epic wonders fueled by Baldi’s exploration of self-doubt and existential confusion. With assurance and joy, The Shadow I Remember marks Cloud Nothings’ second decade — a new beginning!
