Description
Hurts Like Hell is Charlotte Cornfields sixth album, and its a very special oneher first since welcoming her daughter into the world. That life-changing experience has deeply influenced her, marking a new chapter personally and artistically. The themes of growth, renewal, and loves resilience through challenges and awkward moments are all drawn from that heartfelt journey. She shares, That experience has pulled me out of myself and given me a different outlook on things. The vulnerability, fragility, and wildness of it all have made me less focused on myself and more aware of the bigger picture. This album truly showcases her most heartfelt, full-voiced work yet. Its also her most collaborative effort, recorded at Philip Weinrobes Sugar Mountain studio in Brooklyn with a wonderful full bandincluding Palehounds El Kempner, Lake Street Dives Bridget Kearney, Adam Brisbin, and Sean Mullinswith special contributions from Nria Graham and Daniel Pencer. She also invited talented artists like Feist, Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson, and Maia Friedman to lend their voices, creating a warm, communal musical experience.
