Buck Meek – Haunted Mountain – Vinyl Record

Description

Buck Meek of Big Thief fame has cooked up another solo album, “Haunted Mountain”. Think eleven tracks recorded in two Texan weeks, with his band – Brisbin, Vaughn, Woodward, Davidson, and D. Meek. Following his 2018 debut and 2021’s “Two Saviors”, Meek tinkers with the idea of love. Love in its organic and artificial states, love exploring cosmic consciousness. His tunes, co-written with pal Jolie Holland and one with Judee Sill’s last journal words, delve into mother-son bonds, platonic ties, and connections with the deceased. Penned in mountains from Portugal, the Cyclades, Swiss Alps, to Santa Monica, “Haunted Mountain” is born from love itself. It poses a profound question: “Is love a form of magic?” This GRAMMY-nominated guitarist also collaborates with the late Judee Sill on “The Rainbow”, her unfinished lyrics coming alive.
