Description
Experience Sidney Poitiers powerful directorial debut with Buck and the Preacher, a gripping Western restored in high definition by the Criterion Collection. Originally released in 1972, this groundbreaking film stars Poitier alongside Harry Belafonte and Ruby Dee in a bold reimagining of the Western genre through the lens of Black history and resilience. Follow the journey of a former Union cavalryman guiding freed slaves westward, and his uneasy alliance with a scheming preacher, as they confront violent resistance and systemic injustice in post-Civil War America.
