Al Stewart – Year Of The Cat – Vinyl Record 180g Import

Description

Al Stewart’s voice was already incredible on Past, Present & Future and his style with Modern Times couldn’t be beat. Then he perfected it all on the stunning Year of the Cat; maybe his best record. No single theme dominates this one, as with its two predecessors, but the sheer lushness of Alan Parsons’ production, combined with Stewart’s evocative stories, give the LP an irresistible cohesive vibe. Listeners will be taken on a wild ride from “Lord Grenville” to “Midas Shadow” to “Broadway Hotel” and then to the captivating title track. Stewart’s words weave mysteries and his slyly sophisticated songs borrow from both American and European folk/pop styles. His admirers know how delightful his self-conscious progressive pop can be, and if you don’t you’d better get ready to be enchanted!
