Description
After years of touring, Alexandra Levy (Ada Lea) sought community and renewal. ‘when i paint my masterpiece’ was largely recorded in rural Ontario at the end of 2023, with harmonies reflecting Canadian folk roots. The band recorded it live and acoustic in one room, off-grid, loose but controlled, without a click.
Produced with Luke Temple of Here We Go Magic, known for his psychedelic sensibility on albums by artists like Adrianne Lenker and Hand Habits.
By the end, its clear: ‘when i paint my masterpiece’ isnt chasing perfection but celebrating being. These songs are poetic, heartfelt, sometimes strange, always reaching, with optimistic lyrics and Ada Leas surprising harmonic stylenow with a rich, organic sound that rewards slow listening.
