Description

From the mind of legendary cult director John Waters comes Female Trouble, a darkly comedic masterpiece starring the iconic Divine. This outrageous and transgressive film follows the unhinged life of Dawn Davenport, a rebellious teenager who runs away from home after being denied a pair of new shoes. Her life quickly spirals into chaos as she hitchhikes, gets pregnant, and is abandoned by both the father and her parents. Forced into a life of stripping and crime, Dawn ultimately embraces the philosophy that “crime is beauty.” A cornerstone of underground cinema, this Criterion Collection release presents Female Trouble in a newly restored edition.
