Description
Pulp’s debut, and one of their most genuine recordings, beautifully captures a band just starting to carve out their unique path in the music world. This gentle, largely acoustic album offers delightful hints of the many exciting musical directions Pulp would later explore. It draws inspiration from the majestic, theatrical ballads of Scott Walker and the raw, folky song poems of Leonard Cohen. You can really feel the essence of a young band searching for their identity, soaking up influences from all around. Remarkably, it has aged into a charming collection that still resonates today. Pulp’s 1983 debut album is also a proud part of Fire Records’ Fire Embers reissue series, complete with extra bonus material that fans will surely appreciate!Side A
