Xmal Deutschland – Gift The 4AD Years – Trans Red Color Vinyl Record Deluxe 3xLP

Description

The extraordinary impact that Xmal Deutschland had on British audiences in the early Eighties continues to leave a fascinating mark even forty years later. Their music, with its staccato rhythms, direct communication, and enigmatic (to us) language, created a spellbinding experience, thanks to the vision and strength of the talented women involved. Their breakthrough performance supporting Cocteau Twins, along with their first two albums with 4AD, dazzled listeners and resonated deeply, introducing tones and emotions like no other band before or since. “And at some point, it seemed to people we just… disappeared,” muses singer Anja Huwe. “So this myth of Xmal Deutschland just got bigger and bigger over the years…” – The album “Gift,” captivating for newcomers while nourishing longtime fans, is filled with an undeniable presence. And though the word “gift” in German amusingly hints at a kind of poison, this music is definitely not all sweetness and light. Its radiance continues to resonate even four decades later. Xmal Deutschland’s 4AD years were a bold and enchanting journey, and the magic is back!
