Lael Neale- Altogether Stranger – Lavender Color Vinyl Record

Description

Lael Neales minimalist drone pop resonates with the Transcendentalists, modern alienation, and diverse musical influences like Dionne Warwick and John Lennon, alongside primitive American gospel and Spacemen 3. Her new record, Altogether Stranger, was created in the early morning stillness of Los Angeles. At just 32 minutes, the 9-song LP explores a wide range of musical and lyrical themesfrom garage rock nursery rhymes to Motorik dance dirges and solo Omnichord meditations. A brilliant lyricist, Neale adeptly reveals the extraordinary in the mundane, addressing recurring themes of polarity: country vs. city, humanity vs. technology, isolation vs. society. This album marks her third collaboration with producer Guy Blakeslee, who broadens the tonal palette while honoring Neales dedication to the raw immediacy and handmade intimacy of home recording.
