The Nigerian princesses of afro-funk made a stunning entrance on the international scene with their 1976 album, Dangerous, and they’ve been captivating audiences ever since. Produced by talented multi-instrumentalist Adeniyi “Biddy” Wright, this six-song LP offers a relaxed vibe filled with dreamy psychedelic guitar melodies, crisp hi-hat shuffles, and beautiful harmony vocals from the twins Taiwo and Kehinde. The 2025 remaster comes beautifully packaged in a deluxe tip-on jacket and features lyrics in both Yoruban and English. Danger, dangerplease come on back!

Lijadu Sisters didn’t produce as much material as Fela Kuti, Nigerias ruling musical monarch during the ’70s, but their groove-laden Afro-beat was just as hard-hitting — and, on their 1976 debut Danger, even more interesting to listeners outside of Africa. – John Bush, Allmusic.com
