Description
Folk music is often seen as serious and somber, meant to evoke tears or reverence, especially by critics and historians. But Folk Bitch Trioformer high school friends Heide Peverelle (they/them), Jeanie Pilkington (she/her), and Gracie Sinclair (she/her)bring humor and liveliness to their music, making it relatable rather than self-absorbed. Their debut album, Now Would Be A Good Time, features raw, vivid stories that are humorous and darkly ironic, reminiscent of writers like Mary Gaitskill or Otessa Moshfegh. Their sound is familiar yet modern, capturing early-twenties themes like daydreams, heartbreaks, fantasies, media overload, petty resentments, and minor humiliations.
