Coolio – Gangsta’s Paradise – 180g Red Color Vinyl Record

Description

‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ by Coolio is a popular song featuring L.V., released on his album of the same name and featured in the 1995 film Dangerous Minds soundtrack. The track cleverly samples the chorus and music from Stevie Wonder’s 1976 song ‘Pastime Paradise,’ with some lyrics altered to give a different meaning. Stevie Wonder originally used ‘past-time paradise’ ironically, highlighting how people sometimes waste the present by overly nostalgic about the past. In contrast, Coolio’s song thoughtfully critiques the seemingly ideal but actually dangerous and unproductive ‘gangsta’ lifestyle that some might pursue instead of a meaningful life.
