BEGINNINGS is the debut album from the Norwegian singer, songwriter, and producer girl in red. Girl in Red is the heartfelt project of Marie Ulven, a 20-year-old from Horten, Norway. She started in her bedroom, teaching herself to play guitar and piano and producing her own music.
Inspired by Marie’s personal experiences with mental health and sexuality, her music and her personality are both characterized by honesty and authenticity. The New York Times has praised Marie as “one of the most astute and exciting singer-songwriters working in the world of guitar music, with a laserlike melodic instinct that verges on the primal and lyrics that capture the sweat of real life.”
