Magnolia Electric Co. & Jason Molina Josephine Vinyl Record

Description

Molina’s concept album genuinely honors the memory of fallen bassist Evan Farrell (R.I.P. December 2007), reflecting the heartfelt effort of Magnolia Electric Co. during the creation of Josephine. Molina describes each song as a sincere attempt to fulfill Evan’s hopes for the record, making Evan’s spirit an integral part of this project. The theme of losing Josephine poignantly parallels the loss of Evan. While Molina’s familiar poetic metaphors remain, these songs represent his strongest work since Magnolia Electric Co. was formed, with familiar themes gaining fresh depth. Although Molina has explored universal loneliness before, he approaches it with newfound focus and clarity in Josephine.
