Description
“Texas Sun” is the stunning collaboration between Texas psychedelic-funk trio Khruangbin and soul singer Leon Bridges. Released in 2020, the vinyl LP edition of the album is a triumph, featuring a warm and inviting sound that perfectly captures the vibe of the Lone Star State. The album’s four tracks are a masterclass in musical fusion, blending Khruangbin’s trippy, Thai-inspired sound with Bridges’ classic R&B vocals. Standout tracks like the title track “Texas Sun” and “Midnight” showcase the band’s musical versatility, with intricate guitar work, propulsive basslines, and swirling rhythms creating a sound that is both danceable and transportive. Bridges’ soulful crooning adds an extra layer of emotional depth, making “Texas Sun” an album that is both groovy and poignant. The vinyl pressing brings the album to life, with a full, rich sound that is faithful to the original mix. “Texas Sun” is a masterpiece of musical collaboration, and a must-have for fans of innovative, genre-defying music.
