Parquet Courts – Light Up Gold – Vinyl Record

Description

Parquet Courts Light Up Gold (LP)

Originally released in 2012, Light Up Gold returns through Rough Trade Records with a fresh 2025 release date of November 28. This is Parquet Courts first proper LP, a bold, kinetic plunge into the American DIY underground that blends sharp, bright guitars with looping post-punk bass lines and drums that verge on robotic precision.

Led by A. Savage and Austin Brown, the songwriting is dense and inventivewitty, observant, and stitched to the music in a way that makes the lyrics feel like a natural extension of the melody. The record captures a band transitioning from raw, early energy to a more poised, yet still fiercely independent sound.

Recorded in an ice-box practice space and steeped in influences from Krautrock and The Fall, Light Up Gold also resonates with the broader New York scenes spiritdistinctive, unvarnished, and unapologetically essential for collectors seeking a pivotal moment in modern indie punk.
