Description
Big Thief’s highly anticipated third album,U.F.O.F. (U.F.O.F. stands for Friend), lands as a focused vinyl release that captures the band’s raw, live energy. Recorded in rural western Washington at Bear Creek Studios, the members tracked in a single, cabin-like room with engineer Dom Monks and producer Andrew Sarlo. Some songs were written only hours before recording and were captured in first takes, vocals and all, delivering immediacy and an intimate, honest rapport with the listener.
The result is a palette that feels classic yet forward, weaving emotional bravery with quiet, personal storytelling. A careful sprinkle of New Age textures and dynamic choices keeps the performances direct, uncluttered, and intensely presentperfect for late-night listening, quiet introspection, or reflective car journeys.
Side A features: Contact, UFOF, Cattails, From, Open Desert, Orange. Side B features: Century, Strange, Betsy, Terminal Paradise, Jenni, Magic Dealer.
