Description
Stars Are the Light – the luminous seventh offering from American psych explorers Moon Duo – is a journey into unfamiliar territory. In it, Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada’s guitar-driven psych rock advances beyond the occult and transcendential. A sonic feast of funk, rave, and disco, this album puts movement at its core, inspiring the body and awakening the soul. Here, the wonders of love, hardship, alienation, and celebration are masterfully captured, and the vibrant energy of a disco beckons us to its seductive swirl. With Sonic Boom at the mixing desk in Portugal’s Serra de Sintra – a mystical place known to Romans as “The Mountains of the Moon” – the ebullient rhythms become even more invigorating. Yamada says, “Disco is dance music, and we wanted to explore its empowering space of self-expression. Everyone’s welcome, and it’s a place to let your identity be fluid.” Get radiant with Stars Are the
