Ghost’s passionate third album, Meliora, is a return to what made their Opus Eponymous debut so special: melodic, earworm hard rock with serene vocals. Meticulously produced by Klas hlund and mixed by Andy Wallace, Meliora is an accessible window into their career ambitions. Donning monk costumes and Papa Emeritus III’s skull-faced ant-Papal dress, they honor Satanism, but the music is classic rock- Alice Cooper, Blue yster Cult, Witchfinder General, Venom, and more. Plus, the lush harmonies of late ’60s and early ’70s San Francisco, L.A., and Laurel Canyon sounds! Put aside the schtick; this band creates some of the most captivating hard rock out there.
