Description
Soul of a Woman, the final studio album by Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, is a beautifully orchestrated masterpiece that pays tribute to the life and career of Daptone’s fearless leader and one of the greatest performers in the world. Despite battling pancreatic cancer in 2016, Sharon Jones continued to tour and perform tirelessly, and was even the subject of an acclaimed documentary by Oscar-winning director Barbara Kopple, titled Miss Sharon Jones!. Incredibly, Jones found time to complete a studio album, which features eleven powerful songs that showcase the emotion, dynamics, and drama of her voice, which remained at full power until her final days.
