For over three decades, Mary Timony has carved a unique path in the independent music world as a singer-songwriter and guitar icon. She has made her mark as the vocalist and guitarist of Ex Hex, a member of Autoclave, the celebrated leader of Helium, a multifaceted solo artist, and a co-founder of Wild Flag. Her guitar skills have been praised by Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein as “Mary Shelley with a guitar” and hailed by Lindsey Jordan (also known as Snail Mail) as “a trailblazer and an innovator.” Through the mystical, acoustic-driven album Untame the Tiger, which she recorded while caring for her ailing parents after the end of a long-term relationship, Timony solidifies herself as one of the most influential guitarists and songwriters of her generation.1.
