This song has a nostalgic history. Picture two musicians at their first show in Chicagos Lincoln Hall on January 15, 2016, braving the cold. After the show, one suggests, We should make a country album. This moment sparks a legendary collaboration between two artists known for their poignant lyrics and willingness to share personal struggles. It initiates the creation of an enduring work that reassures both singer and listener that they are never truly alone, and that music remains a steadfast companion.
