Rostam’s third album, American Stories, marks his return with his first new music in over five years. The Iranian-American artist and acclaimed producer explores his life across dual cultural worlds, weaving together Americana and Persian traditions. Fingerpicked guitars, pedal steel, and strummed chords blend seamlessly with microtonal Persian melodiesa marriage of east and west that defines the album’s sound. Lyrically, Rostam draws from personal experience and reflection. “The Weight” captures college campuses in spring 2025, while “Forgive is to Know” processes real events through the lens of songwriting itself. “Hardy” ft. Clairo, examines the end of a relationship, and throughout, he contends with humanity’s uncertain future. The result is deeply individual yet unmistakably Americana record designed to offer listeners comfort and optimism.
