Description
Philip Glass is a renowned American composer whose work is often associated with the minimal music movement, although he prefers to describe it as theater music. His album “Glassworks,” originally released in 1982, features a six-part chamber music work that showcases Glass’s exceptional talent and versatility. After creating larger-scale concert and stage works, Glass aimed to create a more accessible and pop-oriented album with shorter pieces that could be enjoyed on personal cassette players.
The album was a resounding success and has since become a beloved classic among contemporary classical music fans. This is a must-have addition to any record collection and a wonderful way to experience the timeless beauty of Philip Glass’s music.
