Patti Smith – Horses – Dapple Grey Color Vinyl Record

Description

Patti Smith’s landmark 1975 debut, Horses, arrives on dapple grey color vinyl for its 50th anniversary. This edition features the original master recordingnot the remasterpreserving the raw, pioneering sound that helped define punk rock. Lenny Kaye’s sparse guitar work, Smith’s anarchic vocals, and her poetic lyricism created something entirely new: a fusion of spoken word and rock that anticipated the punk and new wave movements. Producer John Cale’s respect for Smith’s primitivism allowed loose, improvisatory structures to flourish, making Horses a timeless hybrid of post-Beat poetry and simple, powerful rock & roll. For the UK’s National Album Day.
