Description
Our In Zen Scale Flute in the key of A is handcrafted from domestic, sustainable wood, chosen for its natural beauty and tonal richness. This instrument is tuned to the In Zen pentatonic scale, a mode deeply rooted in Japanese musical traditions and closely related to the Phrygian mode. Unlike the standard Phrygian, this scale replaces the 3rd degree with a flat 2nd and omits the 6th, giving rise to its serene and meditative voice.
The In Zen scale evokes the tranquil spirit of Zen practice, offering a soundscape of calm reflection and inner stillness. Its airy, contemplative tones are commonly found in traditional Zen and meditation music, where sound becomes a vessel for mindfulness and peace. By simplifying the scale to five notes, this flute invites intuitive playing and improvisation, allowing both beginners and experienced musicians to connect with music as a form of meditation.
Handcrafted with care, the In Zen Scale Flute bridges the artistry of Native American style flutes with the refined minimalism of Japanese tonal aesthetics. Its design ensures a smooth, resonant voice, perfectly suited for personal reflection, yoga, sound healing, or simply creating an atmosphere of quiet beauty. Whether you are just beginning your musical journey or seeking a new tonal color to enrich your practice, this flute opens a doorway into the calming world of Zen-inspired music.
The Zen Scale Spirit Flutes is approximately 14-inches long.
Our size Small Blanket Bag is wonderful light protection for this flute.
